ENGINEERED WOOD FIBER FOR PLAYGROUND SURFACES
A cubic yard of material can be spread to cover 100 square feet (10×10 foot area) at 3 inches of depth.
Our engineered wood fiber (Playground Mulch) meets the ASTM standard ASTM F1951. Engineered wood fiber is an economical playground surfacing used on 75% of all playgrounds in the U.S. because of its high impact absorbing qualities yet firm, slip resistant surface. Less expensive products such as sand and pea gravel do not meet ADA guidelines.

Materials
EWF is made from clean, virgin wood fibers that interlock to create a stable and slip-resistant surface, ensuring excellent impact attenuation and long-lasting performance. It is an ideal choice for playgrounds and outdoor environments that prioritize safety, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal.
Installation
Installation Guidelines: The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends installing Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) at a depth of 9 inches for most playground applications. Because EWF is an organic material that naturally compacts upon installation, we recommend purchasing enough to install at a 12-inch depth to account for compaction and ensure compliance with safety standards.
